This January, I moved into a new position at Georgia Tech: I'm now the First-Year Semester Abroad (FYSA) Postdoctoral Fellow, reporting jointly to the Office of Undergraduate Education (OUE) and the Office of International Education (OIE). In my new role, my responsibilities will be shared equally between FYSA@GTL and the FYSA program overall, and I will focus largely on education research/assessment, curriculum design, and program development. I'm excited to carry forward what I've learned as the Assistant Director for FYSA@GTL, working with OUE and OIE staff to build FYSA as it expands to a second host campus in England, FYSA@Oxford. Although I'm out of the classroom this spring semester, I'll still be working closely with first-year students, designing a new GT 1000 course for FYSA's Summer Orientation and preparing to teach English 1101 and English 1102 for FYSA@GTL in Fall 2022.
